For those who feel that their life has been stolen
by stillin inyou maintained a level of personal decency and integrity that you almost certainly would not have had if you had chosen another direction.. sure, you would have had some very "colorful" friends and experiences if you had gone another way, but you still chose the more "edgy" people in the congregation as your friends and you still enjoyed yourself, even if there were a lot of phony constraints.. you looked for ways to be of value to others.
don't stop doing that!.
you kept the darker side of your personality in check.

What if you were a JW during WWII? Would you give in to Hitler and fight?
by Brother Mike inso i pose this question to everyone.
if you were a jw and lived in germany in wwii, how would you deal with the harsh cruelity of hitler?
would you join his side so you may have a chance to live (meaning you'd serve in the miliatry and be on the front line) or would you keep on serving god and be executed?

This question could go round and round the campfire for a long time...
As a little girl listening to my sisters small portable record player to some probably Hans Christian Anderson fairy tale, there was the inevitable story of a genie granting out of the 3 wishes. I always thought as a child, if I had that chance offer given to me, my first wish would to ask for 10 more wishes... no , let's make it 100 wishes... Then it became everything I would ever wish for would come true.
So, if I were a JW during WWll? I would gather up all my family and friends, and high tail it onto the next boat, train, ship, get out of there as soon as I could and I would wish that I had all of the money, passports and maps so I would know what I was doing, so I could make the great escape, successfully.
Would I stand for the brutish, cruel, devilish way Hitler worked his country? No.
I would be involved in the underground someway. Save people. Help people. Do something.
I appreciate this refection on what would I do considering I stayed a WT/GB controlled drone all my life, until recently.
I hope I would think what's best for me and my family and friends, not what's good for Hitler or Jehovah. YHWH is the Israelite God of war. I don't like war and killing and fighting. So I guess I don't like Hitler and I don't like Jehovah aka YHWH. They are cruel and I am not.

Hi Dale, I am really sorry you lost the love of your life. I know it must be very painful.
-----> If I am not stepping in your own personal privacy space... would you mind sharing Jim's last joke with us?
I have only been at one hospital death. She had been in a coma. No final words.
I like to laugh and see the fun and joy in life, so I am curious, how I could possibly make my death, better for my daughter, when my time comes.
I do apologize in advance, if I am being too forward. I do not mean to be so.

lol Good one Snare. lol
I think I like the Papua New Guinean mud God Pikkiwoki too. A pig and all the coconuts I can carry, could come in handy.
Also who couldn't use a Toyota Prada, specifically the white one.
I like David Thorne.

Dale I am so sorry for your loss.
I saw the picture of the "playhouse" he built for your children.
Jim must have had a great sense of humor to build and put up a 20 foot long, 12 foot high, flying saucer, in your back yard.
I hope you find comfort in the many years and shared experiences you two had together.

Rooming request
by paladin inwe received a phone call from the summer convention rooming department representative.
he requested that our complimentary room payment for our three day stay be paid at the rooming dept.
and not to the hotel.
-
LoisLane looking for Superman
I don't quite understand.
A complimentary room usually means "free".
If WT books so many rooms they will get free complimentary ones to give out to whom they please (or who pleases them).
Did you get a free room from WT and they want you to pay WT regular WT convention price for it?
LoisLane
PS Are you the only ones that have to do this because of your complimentary room status?
You are not saying every JW that is booked at Hotel XYZ to being asked to pay WT instead of the Hotel?
PSS Is this also to know who stays at which WT approved hotels or if they even do?

Welcome Tyler77 to JWN. It is so nice to have a "long time lurker, inactive 15 years" with us.
If you would like to start a new thread and post a bit about yourself, you are more than welcomed to. After you post, you have 30 minutes to edit or delete. Just use the little yellow pencil on your top right.
Take care.

The dumest thing an elder ever said to me..
by new hope and happiness inconversation with an elder...i said " did you watch due south yesterday" and he said " ive got far more important things to do".
i mean that comment of his got me to thinking and wondering, and made me see he was missing out on living..and i think that comment was the straw that broke this boys faith, and started my i dont want to be a witness anymore.
kind of wierd how a simple question opened my eyes.. and now as i write this i am watching " the rebel" a 1950s western series, and its great and its even better my 9 year old is watching with me..and there is nothing more important than being happy.. .
